City Sitter

Expand the city that you have taken under your care!

Build roads, houses, workplaces, and power stations to expand the city to your heart's content.

There is no end goal, and the game quickly becomes a sandbox with how much money you make, so you just keep playing until you run out of room to build.

This game was built in 5 hours as practice for Miz Jam 1.

Legend

Houses provide 3 Citizens each. Citizens are used to provide Workplaces and Power Stations with employees. A house will take 1 Power, but produce Citizens even if not powered.

Power Stations require 3 Citizens to operate, and produce 10 Power. They require a directly adjacent road (non-diagonally).

Workplaces require 9 Citizens operate, and take 1 Power, and produce $25 every 3 seconds. They require a directly adjacent road (non-diagonally).

Roads are used to fulfill the adjacency requirement of Power Stations and Workplaces.

The final option is to Demolish. It's a cheap way to remove any buildings you don't like. You can also just build over it with another structure, if you want.

Tried to plan everything to fit in a nice square so I could make the city like grids. It makes money but it doesn't look very livable at all. I call it Newer York. Here is the time lapse.

Good for something made in a few hours.

Thanks for playing and posting the video! It was great to watch, your grid city was a nice use of the mechanics and very pretty.
